A certificate of status can be obtained for any registered company in Canada.
These certificates are normally not issued to partnerships, sole proprietorships or for operating trade names although some provinces will issue them for partnerships.
Depending on the province, the certificate may be called a different name. Also, different information is provided on these certificates depending on the province. In some cases, a province will allow for different types of certificates that provide different information. Below is a chart that outlines what each province provides.
