    TIMING OF REGISTRATION:  One to two days.

    PROPRIETOR’S IDENTIFICATION NUMBER:  The Alberta government requires identification before it will issue a registration.  This identification will be requested below.  It can be a driver’s licence, permanent resident card or birth certificate or other government issued forms of identification.  A social insurance number is not accepted.

    This service provides for registration of a foreign company or foreign LLC in the Province of Alberta, Canada (i.e. a company that has been registered in a country outside of Canada that wishes to carry on business in Alberta, Canada).  A Nuans Name Search Fee is included the government fee.
     PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU PURCHASE:
    AGENT FOR SERVICE – All foreign companies that wish to register in Alberta must have an agent for service who lives in Alberta.  This is either a company or an individual that is located in Alberta and can be any one who will be able to receive correspondence on your behalf.   This person does not have to be a solicitor. If you do not have someone who can act as agent for service in Alberta we can provide you with an agent for service for $250 per year.
    FEDERAL BUSINESS NUMBER – Every foreign company registered in Canada must obtain a Federal Business Number which is a 9-digit number.  As well, if the company will be importing or exporting goods in or out of Canada it will be required to have an Import/Export Number.  Further if the worldwide sales of the company are over $30,000 it will be required to have an HST/GST number and charge taxes on its sales in Canada.  When applying for a Federal Business Number with us we will also obtain for you the Import/Export and GST/HST numbers if needed.
    CERTIFIED COPY OF ARTICLES  You will be required to provide an originally executed officer certified copy of your articles of incorporation.
    CERTIFICATE OF STATUS
    A certificate of status will be required to be provided from the home jurisdiction of the company or LLC.  This is a separate fee which you will be expected to incur.  We will assist you in how to obtain this certificate.
    TIMING  Registration takes 2 days once submitted.
