This service includes the registration of a foreign LLC in the province of your choice and, if required, obtaining the Revenue Canada taxation identification number (Federal Business Number) for the foreign company and opening any relevant tax accounts including, payroll, HST-GST sales tax, import/export, etc.

BREAKDOWN OF COSTS:

  • service fee – $450
  • government fee and name clearance fee (varies per the province)
  • agent for service fee (varies per the province).

AGENT FOR SERVICE:  You will be required to have an individual living in the province in which you are registering act as agent for service to receive correspondence.  This person must live in the province where you are registering and be willing to accept correspondence on behalf of the company.  The agent for service does not have to be a solicitor.  If you do not have a person then you must purchase this service.  There will be an option to do this during the purchase process. This is an annual fee.

EXPEDITED OR PRIORITY SERVICE: Most governments will perform the registrations on a first come first serve basis. In some cases, there is an extra fee that you can pay in order to obtain priority service.

IN BRITISH COLUMBIA IT TAKES 3 TO 4 WEEKS TO OBTAIN A NAME CLEARANCE.  IT ALSO TAKES AN ADDITIONAL  2 TO 3 WEEKS TO HAVE AN APPLICATION PROCESSED.  IF YOU WISH YOUR REGISTRATION TO BE DONE FASTER YOU MUST CHOOSE BRITISH COLUMBIA EXPEDITED SERVICE. 

ANNUAL FILING REQUIREMENTS:  There are annual filing requirements for companies registered in Canada.  You will be contacted each year by the agent for service for the filing of the annual return.
