A Certificate of Good Standing, Certificate of Status and/or Certificate of Compliance are one and the same thing. This section provides Certificates for all companies registered in all provinces and territories in Canada.
This type of Certificate will tell you whether a company is in good standing with its corporate annual filings and that it has not been dissolved. Depending on the jurisdiction you may receive your Certificate within one hour or seven days. The Certificate will be provided to you by email in the form of a pdf document.
PLEASE NOTE: These certificates do not confirm that taxes have been paid. Certificates of Status are not issued for sole proprietorships. Some provinces will provide a Certificate of Status for a partnership. In many provinces if you need to acknowledge whether your sole proprietorship or partnership is in good standing a government certified copy is provided which is current dated and shows the registration is active.
